So you want a surface peircing?
My advice to you is to get it done by a professional piercer or you will end up with a piercing that looks like mine did (see above).
I highly reccomend Tracy perkings from Pierce Artist.
She is considered the country’s leading piercer. The woman knows what shes doing!
At pierce artist you can also pay £5 for three piercings if you enroll as a model.

Also, surface piercings DO NOT last forever. This is simply because as humans, our skin sheds. Therefore if we place things under it, they will eventually get closer to the surface and pop out.
Getting pierced professionally can increase the amount of time you have the piercing and can reduce the amount of problems you will come across with it.
So don’t go to some crappy backstreet sod who doesn’t have a clue about your safety.

The sun and heat behind our house becomes unbearable, so we cannot use our outdoors for entertaining as we would like to. We have bought 5 aluminum 10 feet by 12 feet pergolas. Any ideas on what I can place on top of them that will be the most economical since I do need to cover a large space? And still, guard from the brutal sun? and withstand the rain? and easy to install myself? and not too heavy for the aluminum frame? and not have to be replaced sooner than later? and not fly away with the powerful winds? I have recently built an outdoor patio made of wood. I am now trying to figure out what kind of paint is appropriate for my patio. Are there different kinds of paints I can use, or is there a certain one for wood patios? Like Solid Colors, Semi-Tranparents, Toners, and Clears.
And is there a difference in paints for a deck and paints for a patio? Or are they the same?
And yes, I’d like something that leaves the natural wood grain and color.

Short answer is Deck Paint. It will hold up well under the sun and rain, etc, and is easy to care for.

At home improvement stores, or even Target or Costco, you can get a 10-foot square gazebo with a metal frame and a canvas top for about $ 150. They come unassembled, but they only take about an hour or so to put together.
