I’m a hobbyist woodworker and have used both prefab and custom-built sheds over the past 12 years. All things same, custom-built sheds last longer than prefab sheds as long as you use the right materials & plans.
But if you’re time-constrained, a prefab shed should be good enough as long as you buy it from a quality supplier.
There’s one caveat though: Prefab sheds suffer from durability issues in the long run. It is also harder to scale up a prefab shed when your storage needs increase.
