Which do you prefer? This would be for a dining set in cast aluminum that looks like wrought iron and would be used on a wooden deck (not a patio). I like the look of dining chairs (i.e., with legs) because I prefer a traditional style with my old house, but I’m wondering if swivel chairs would be more comfortable and practical on a deck (no legs to get caught in the cracks). Opinions?
One more thing — swivel chairs cost about twice as much as dining chairs.

Swivel, because it allows the user to position themselves in any direction with little effort (i.e., out of the sun, in the sun, to watch a volleyball match, to watch the kiddies swim, etc.)

Reasonable patio furniture?

My husband and I just closed on our new home! We take posession in a month. The main selling feature for us was the fact that it has the MOST amazing backyard with a lagoon style pool, hot tub, palm/fruit trees, and gazebo. We would love some nice looking furniture (chaise lounges, a big dining set, comfortable lounge chairs etc). We live in Florida, where we can spend 9-10 months a year outdoors, so it seems like a reasonable place to furnish nicely!
Does anybody have any recommendations for beautiful outdoor furniture that won’t break the bank? I wish that we could order from Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware, but it just doesn’t seem smart to spend $ 10,000 on furniture that’s going to get rained on when we have young children who need college funds!!
I’m a big online shopper… any tips would be much appreciated

I have a patio set (table and four chairs) on my deck and I put a canvas cover on it. It’s pretty heavy and durable, but it keeps blowing off on windy days. Any tips for keeping it from blowing off? I guess I could put huge rocks on top of the table or something, but I think that wouldn’t look too attractive. Thanks!

Bungee cords if there are little round silver inserts on your canvas cover. Or still use bungee cords, but use longer ones.

a really nice idea is to find a cheap outdoor setting that suits ur NEEDS (like has enough chairs etc) then work on the look, you can change the look of something by like, applying paint, rubbing it back and adding a laquer, maybe adding cusions and pillow tops, reappolstering the chairs, having a nice tablecloth or runners over it, the decorate it, it wont look shabby, u need to focus on price and functionality first then do it up how u like it

sand down the rust and then use rustoleum primer followed by rustoleum spray paint
I would recommend spraying for a better finish – several light coats and keep the can moving
