Thousand Oaks Landscape Design Patio Cover Concrete Water Fountain Lighting Lawn Sprinklers

default Thousand Oaks Landscape Design Patio Cover Concrete Water Fountain Lighting Lawn Sprinklers

This is a job we completed just over a year ago in Thousand Oaks which is near Camarillo in Ventura County. This video shows how well all the plants have grown in in just a year’s time. We began with a clean slate of dirt in the back and sides and the builder installed front landscape. We created a landscape design based on the clients’ needs and integrating the existing layout and topography of the site. We enlarged and added planters in the front and redid all of the planting. On the side yard, we created a concrete trash pad and utility area and added stepping stones to access the new colored and stained concrete patio in the rear. The rear patio is shaded by a beautiful wood patio cover that is painted to match the house trim and accented with LED down lights and a bubbling urn fountain which the hummingbirds love. There are additional LED lights to illuminate the walkways and accent the plantings. There are two distinct areas in the back patio, one off the master bedroom for a private sitting area and another off the kitchen that serves as gathering area for larger events. There is large lawn on the other side where the kids can play and run around. Treated wood timbers make a rustic staircase to the elevated citrus grove on top of the rear slope. All the irrigation is the latest in water efficiency and is controlled by a Rainbird SMART controller for weather-based scheduling. If there is any questions on this project feel free to contact me. Enjoy!

It has been the number one choice of aluminum patio covers for contractors and remodelers for over 20 years. Alumawood™ is designed and engineered for beauty, easy installation, and long-term durability. It features attractive wood-grained embossing, which simulates natural wood; but unlike real wood, it won’t burn, crack, peel, warp, rot or attract termites. And with the exclusive Aluma-Shield paint system, it requires very little maintenance and is backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Alumawood™ comes in two varieties: Laguna lattice, which provides shade while allowing refreshing breezes to pass through. The sophisticated look of lattice makes it a good choice for those who value beautiful design and want a partially lit area. The Newport solid roof cover provides complete shade and protection from the elements, and features a built-in gutter system for proper water run-off. Because the structures are so durable and attractive, many homeowners and commercial builders choose Alumawood™ over traditional wooden or other metal shade structures. Utility company damaged my lawn, who is liable?

Question by cheery: Utility company damaged my lawn, who is liable?
My neighbor had a wooden building (shed) delivered, and because it was on top of a truck, it did not clear the power lines that were above their driveway.
The truck driver ended up pulling down the lines and made the large post which was situated on my land, split in two and fell over on the road.
The electric company turned up later to put a new post in and clamp the old post to the new (temporary).
To do this they ended up driving over on my land (5 trucks and cranes). Now my beautiful lawn, is now like a race track. Huge tire marks, huge dents, bumpy everywhere and sod ruined.
Who is liable for this? There is no way I can fix this myself. My ride on lawn mower is not going to be able to cut the lawn in this state.
There is an easement beside the road, but they were far from the easement, my whole front lawn is ruined.
Will it be the electric company or the truck driver who pulled the cables down?
I am in Oklahoma.
I am also worried about my sprinkler system.
I think some sprinklers heads are damaged too.
Because of a heavy thunderstorm came pretty much as they were finishing, I haven’t been able to check the correct amount of damage yet, apart from the obvious. It looks terrible that is all I know at the moment. I am sure they will have to come back and do the job properly as the new post is just holding up the old one by some ropes or something. Wires from other utilities are all hanging everywhere right next to my mail box. Hope they come out too and do their work. I guess they will make even more damage before the job is complete.

Does a riding lawn mower belong in a shed?

Question by OldBones: Does a riding lawn mower belong in a shed?
My brother gave me his riding lawn mower. It is very nice, with a 52″deck. I have no where to store it. Is it ok just to put it in the corner of the back yard or does it need a shed. Its only 2 years old.

At the very least you need to get a cover for it. You can find a cheap car cover for compact cars at your local walmart.

I’ve tried just about every cleaner out there and finally decided to paint it with the new Fusion Plastic Paint by Krylon. Even where it was scratched and roughed up, it now looks like brand new. You can pick from a multitude of colors, too, and it lasts a long time, won’t flake off or peel and can be hosed off to clean. Great stuff!
