Any big box or local hardware/lumber store would offer wood treated to handle the outdoors. Decks are built from this type of wood. Teaks are also great woods for outdoors but require more work to maintain. Teak would most likely have to be ordered through the same stores.

I have built a garden box 10′x2.5′ using treated lumber, and filled with topsoil.. will the treated lumber give off any toxic residue which would go into the vegetables and be harmful to human consumption

Question by bluefishingpig: What size lumber would I use to span 20 ft. on a shed roof 2/12 slope & metal roofing material?
Is it ok to space rafters on 4′ and use 2×4 on their edge, on 2′ centers as is done in pole barns. I am wanting to build a 20×30 shed roof on the end of my existing 30×50 work shop for rv storage as cheaply as possible.

you can use 2×4 and put them on 24” centers. as that is how almost all home roofs with trusses are designed.
